Derek McInnes has provided an update on Rangers' transfer situation following Sunday's 1-0 victory over Aberdeen, with the manager confirming there have still been no offers for Nicolas Raskin, despite the Belgian being left out of the matchday squad again.
Raskin has been at the centre of transfer speculation in recent days after being left out of the Rangers squad for Thursday's defeat to Jablonec.
McInnes had previously confirmed that the Belgian midfielder remained in Glasgow because of the potential for a transfer but revealed after the European exit that no formal offers had been received.
Incomings at Ibrox
Speaking after Rangers' win at Pittodrie, McInnes was asked about the possibility of movement before the transfer window closes.
“I need to pick up, I spoke to Jim [Gillespie] yesterday and the recruitment team,” McInnes said.
“In terms of outs I don't think there's anything imminent on that, certainly not been any offers for Nico if that's the next question.
“Obviously it's normally the last couple of days of the window when things really crank up, so we need to be primed for that.”
Raskin's situation therefore remains unresolved, with interest having previously been acknowledged by McInnes despite no formal bid arriving at Ibrox.
The Rangers boss had earlier stated that there had been “plenty of interest” in the midfielder and that it had increased in the days before the Jablonec fixture.
However, at present, McInnes insists there is no imminent departure to report despite not including the World Cup star in his squad today.
McInnes confirmed the club remain eager to sign another striker following Youssef Chermiti's injury, with Rangers continuing their search for the right addition.
“In terms of ones in, it's been a while now since Youssef went down against Hibs, so we're really keen and eager to get the striker in that we want,” he said.
“Again it's took a bit longer, it's not reasons that the club are guilty for, but we all know the importance of bringing in that quality, top-ending pitch.”
Rangers defeat Aberdeen
The manager believes Sunday's performance against Aberdeen showed precisely why Rangers need to add more quality and attacking threat.
Kim Min-Su made his first start for the club after joining from Girona, while the pace and movement around Lawrence Shankland provided Rangers with a different attacking dynamic.
“I think you've seen a wee flavour of that today,” McInnes said.
“To be honest it was the team that I kind of hoped we could be.
“We need to show our teeth a bit more as an attacking team at Rangers and I thought we had people in good positions to go and do that.”
“Just that confidence and speed running around Shankland is vitally important for Lawrence, having that movement.
“I've worked with Lawrence a long time and he needs that speed and invention and creativity.
“It's the quality that we've been searching for and looking for for a long time now and you see the difference to the team.”
The Rangers manager suggested the attacking additions do not necessarily need to dominate possession in central areas, provided they can create moments further forward.
“We don't need to be brilliant through the middle of the park,” McInnes said.
“If you give them the job to keep the ball at the net and defend properly, but the onus is on the speed and the creativity to bring moments, and I thought they all did that.”
With the transfer deadline approaching, McInnes knows Rangers must be prepared for an increasingly busy period.
The club are still looking for the striker they want, while Raskin remains the subject of interest but has yet to attract a formal offer.
“It's normally the last couple of days of the window when things really crank up,” McInnes said.
“So, we need to be primed for that.”
