Rangers finally have their man! The club have today confirmed that Feyenoord striker Danilo has joined the club, subject to international clearance.

The Brazilian signs a five-year deal at Ibrox to become the club’s eight summer signing, with a fee rumoured to be around 6 million Euros.

He follows Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling, Jack Butland, Abdallah Sima, Sam Lammers, Leon Balogun and Cyriel Dessers as new arrivals this summer, with Jose Cifuentes believed to be joining imminently.

Danilo has been a long term target for the club this summer, with The 4th Official confirming news of an initial approach back towards the end of June.

He netted 14 times in 48 appearances last season for the Dutch side as they won their first Eredivisie in six years.

Speaking to the Rangers website after news of the move became official, Danilo said:

"I’m super happy. I can’t wait to start playing at Ibrox in front of the supporters. I am so in love already with the club and I’m excited to be part of the Rangers team. It’s time to get to work and I hope that I can repay the love that they have shown to me."

Manager Michael Beale added:

"Danilo is a player that I have personally been aware of since his time at Ajax. He had a breakthrough year on loan at FC Twente and then back at Ajax before joining Feyenoord last summer.“He has won the Dutch title in both of the last two seasons and his goal per minute ratio is very good. He is an exciting player who likes to create and score goals, he is one that I believe is a good fit for our squad and he will give us another big option in the attacking areas of the pitch.“The discussions were ongoing for some time, so I am delighted that we finally have him at our club. Danilo really wanted this move and has a strong belief in the plan that we have for him and for the team moving forward – this was key in the negotiations as he really pushed to join Rangers. We wish him every success here at Rangers."

Danilo now joins up with the squad in Germany for their final pre-season fixture tomorrow against Hoffenheim, as final preparations begin for next week’s league opener at Kilmarnock.

In regards to transfers, focus now shifts to outgoings, with Glen Kamara and Scott Wright believed to be in advanced talks with other clubs, all the club are still active in regards to bringing in another left-sided defender, with the likes of Jonathan Panzo and Austin Trusty previously being linked with moves to Ibrox.
