Rangers may face disappointment in their pursuit of South Korean football star Hwang In-Boem due to Olympiakos’ £13 million price tag.

Rangers, one of the most successful football clubs in Scotland, may be in for a summer transfer disappointment. According to reports, Olympiakos has valued South Korean football star Hwang In-Boem at a hefty £13 million, and this price tag could dash Rangers’ hopes of acquiring the 26-year-old midfielder.

If German club Borussia Monchengladbach cannot afford Hwang, then Rangers, who operate with a much smaller budget, would find it challenging to match Olympiakos’ asking price.

Borussia, whose talentspotters have been scouting Hwang for some time, had Sporting Director Roland Virkus concede that they would not be able to afford the Korean star.

While Borussia Monchengladbach could raise funds by selling French midfielder Manu Kone, Rangers are yet to spend an eight-figure sum on a single player.

This means that even with the prospect of Champions League football, it is unlikely that they would be able to afford Hwang.

Hwang, a highly intelligent tempo-setting playmaker, could have been a valuable addition to the Glasgow giants. Rangers lack a midfielder who can control the game while contributing in both the attacking and defensive departments.

However, with Olympiakos seeking a sum of 15 million euros for Hwang, it seems very unlikely that Rangers could meet that price.

While the situation may be disappointing for Rangers fans, there is no denying that Hwang In-Boem is an exceptional talent. The midfielder has been a vital part of Olympiakos’ success this season, and he has proven that he has the skills to compete at the highest level.

It remains to be seen if Rangers can find a suitable replacement for their midfield, but one thing is for sure: Hwang In-Boem would have been an excellent addition to the team.
