Rangers FC are off to a fine start in Scotland, and they are about to carry that momentum into the Europa League.

Steven Gerrard will be thanking the football Gods for looking over Rangers FC this season. Gers are dominating their opponents in Scotland as they sit in first place with 16 points from six games.

Currently undefeated and boasting a perfect defensive record with zero goals conceded, Rangers have every right to soak in all the praises.

For a team that is already off to a flying start, the only other good news they could receive is having a lenient draw in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.

Well, of all the teams they could have gone up against, Rangers will take on one of the tournament’s minnows – Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar.

The disparity between Rangers and Lincoln Red Imps is like night and day due to the fact that the Gibraltarian side is comprised of amateur footballers, most of which have second jobs. Being drawn against Lincoln Red Imps is massive for Rangers for the following reasons.

Firstly, this draw essentially confirms the Light Blues’ advancement to the third qualifying round, which brings with it a monetary boost of €260,000.

Secondly, seeing how superior Rangers are to Lincoln Red Imps, Gerrard can still take this game seriously, but rest his key players to avoid injuries during a critical campaign.

This is significant for Rangers seeing that this game will be sandwiched between two tough clashes in Scotland against Dundee United on September 12th and second-placed Hibernian on September 20th.

Rangers are in the process of writing their own destiny this season as they aim to win their first title since the 2010-11 campaign.

Their current domestic form has them on the right path to fulfilling that objective, and this favorable draw in the Europa League simply serves as the icing on the cake.
