Rangers are back in action on a short turnaround, this time against Aberdeen, for the first time since they were knocked out of the Betfred Cup.

Rangers will have little time to rest following Sunday’s win over Hearts of Midlothian on the road on Sunday. This Wednesday night, (7:45 PM local time, 2:45 PM for Americans) Rangers will be back on the pitch in the Scottish Premiership against Aberdeen.

This match of course comes only shortly removed from the same two sides meeting at Hamden Park in the Betfred Cup Semi-Final where Rangers played poorly and fell short in a 1-0 loss to the Dons.

On top of the Cup loss, Rangers will surely still have the Premiership opener against Aberdeen at Pittodrie Stadium on their minds, where a 10-man Rangers side nearly won but gave up the game-tying goal in the closing moments of the match.

Aberdeen is coming off of a 1-0 loss to Celtic on Sunday in the Betfred Cup final, while Rangers defeated Hearts of Midlothian 2-1 at Tynecastle on Sunday.

Both teams have great motivation to win, for Aberdeen, it is a chance to bounce back from the cup final loss and a chance to start recovering from their poor form in league play.

For Rangers, revenge for a pair of tough matches against Aberdeen, as well as the chance to remain at the top of the table are on the line. Not to mention the memory of Aberdeen finishing ahead of Rangers the past two seasons.

Rangers have been in better form over their last 4 matches and domestically have been exceptionally tough at Ibrox all season. As such, nothing less than all 3 points should be the expectation.
