Today at 3:00 pm local time (or 10:00 am EST time for that state-side) Rangers will return from the international break to take on Livingston at Ibrox.

Both teams are of course coming off the international break, and while Rangers had some players who were active during the break, both teams should be fairly well rested.

Rangers will be looking to continue their success in Scotland. They had been going through a rough stretch across all competitions featuring losses and ties against inferior sides, but they started to get back on track before the international break by slaughtering Motherwell 7-1.

Rangers will be looking to avenge a loss they suffered on the road against Livingston back in September, which was only their second loss of the season at the time, and being back in the friendly confines of Ibrox and away from Livingston’s plastic pitch should be a nice aid in their quest for vengeance.

Steven Gerrard has announced that Alfredo Morelos will get the day off and the big Northern Irishman Kyle Lafferty will get the start up front in his place. Allan McGregor, James Tavernier, and Andy Halladay will all retain their starting spots from their last match. Connor Goldson also returns to action, and veteran Gareth McAuley will finally make his debut for Rangers after being the last signing of the Summer. Glenn Middleton will also continue to start on the wing, along with Ryan Jack, Ovi Ejaria, and Scott Arfield.

With Celtic having already won today, and Hearts in action as well, a victory will be of utmost importance. Should Hearts drop points Rangers could pull into second place in the league, and the chase is officially on with Celtic.
